SUMMARY:

The Field Training Specialist plays a critical role in delivering world-class coffee experiences across Java City’s Texas market. This position is responsible for on-site barista training, beverage quality execution, and client support at multiple partner locations.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on coffee expert and trainer who can elevate barista performance, ensure brand consistency, and support operational excellence. This role requires frequent travel throughout Texas and the ability to troubleshoot and adjust commercial coffee equipment, including machines such as Schaerer, Bunn, and Concordia.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Barista Training & Development

• Conduct on-site barista training at client locations across Texas.

• Train teams on beverage preparation, milk texturing, espresso extraction, and drink consistency.

• Deliver Java City brand standards, recipes, and service expectations.

-Field Support & Client Engagement

• Serve as a field ambassador for Java City, building strong relationships with clients.

• Evaluate café operations and provide actionable recommendations.

Equipment Support & Troubleshooting

• Assist with calibration and troubleshooting of Schaerer, Bunn, and Concordia machines.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Up to 75% travel across Texas.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Frequently required to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Regular work in café and kitchen environments with noise, heat, and moving equipment.

• Frequent use of hands for operating coffee equipment and tools.

• Exposure to hot surfaces, liquids, and steam.

• Travel across various environments including urban and rural locations.

• PPE may be required depending on site conditions.
