    Job Description

    FieldLink is looking for a Network Engineer with a background in financial services.

     

    NETWORK ENGINEER – JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Design, implement, and maintain network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
    • Setup VPN, SFTP servers; understanding of cloud-based VPN and SFTP infrastructure.
    • Install, configure, and support general purpose computers/monitors for office employees, network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
    • Understands the hosting in general including private and cloud hosting (Azure and GCP)
    • Setup email solutions (Exchange, G-Suite), archiving solutions, and cloud based Active Directory
    • Maintaining, configuring, and monitoring virus protection software and email applications.
    • General understanding of cloud-based infrastructure with the ability to learn and trouble shoot setups done within GCP, Azure or AWS
    • Install, configure, and support network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
    • Defines, documents, and enforces system standards
    • Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
    • Reporting network status to key stakeholders
    • Coordinate with counterparts to setup the VPN, FTP/SFTP, direct line.
    • Setup and troubleshoot machines, monitor setup and network in the office environment
    • Help current office employees with any network, security or application issues
    • Able to manage vendor solutions and systems
    • Suggest network equipment for procurement, provide documentation of impact
    • Configuring firewalls, routers and switches
    • Understand network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
    • Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required
    • Arranging scheduled tasks and network upgrades
    • Investigating faults in the network
    • Secures network system by establishing and enforcing policies and defining and monitoring access
    • Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made
