Job Summary
We are seeking a File/Mail Clerk to join our team! The clerk will be handling incoming and existing documentation, reading all documents, and determining where the documents are filed in the correct client or matter folders.
Document Management
Scan, copy, and upload legal documents into the firm’s document management system.
Follow firm protocols for confidentiality and data security.
Ensure compliance with retention policies and legal regulations.
· Administrative Support
Calendar Notices of Hearings and Depositions
Assist with mail distribution, document indexing, and basic clerical tasks.
Coordinate with other departments for file-related needs.
· Quality Control
Verify accuracy and completeness of documents before filing.
Correct misfiled or missing documents promptly.
You may also have to input information from the file into the computer system to catalog it, assist other staff members in finding the documentation they require and perform basic office support duties such as answering the phone or delivering messages. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
Qualifications
Basic computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe programs and knowledge of MerusCase would be helpful.
Strong attention to detail
Ability to multitask and shift focus and priorities, as needed
Strong organizational skills
