  • Responsibilities

    The Business Analyst is responsible for working with clients and key members of the business to evaluate requirements for customers, create design documents and user stories, and provide clear specifications for development teams.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop relationships with key business personnel
    • Work closely with customers to identify and document their requirements and translate to user stories for development team consumption
    • Serve as the conduit between the customer and the software development team through which requirements flow
    • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
    • Work with Scrum team to groom Jira tickets such that developers can immediately be productive when assigned specific work

    DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 2 to 5 Years of overall professional work experience as a Business Analyst with a focus on translating business into technical requirements for development teams
    • Experience with writing and grooming user stories, ideally in Jira
    • Experience developing business and technical specifications (requirements and design documents, using a common model such as business-user-system)
    • Degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience
    • Experience working with Agile (Scrum) development teams is required for this role, ideally with both onshore and offshore development teams.

    General knowledge of the filmed entertainment industry, previous experience at a major studio and/or experience in one or more of the following process areas is a plus:

    o Intellectual Property and Rights Management

    o Film, Television, or digital licensing and distribution

    o Contract Management

    • Analytical skills, to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
    • Ability to work hard and thrive in a fast-paced environment with little oversight while managing multiple projects and meeting strict deadlines.
    • Ability to work as part of a team and interface with software developers for a large enterprise system
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
    • Ability to listen to business requirements and translate them into development actions
    • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required
