We’re a firm that works hard, celebrates wins, supports one another, and never settles for “good enough.” Responsibilities: About the Role We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Accounting & Finance Manager to take ownership of the firm’s day-to-day financial operations. This individual will be responsible for managing cash flow, billing, collections, accounts payable/receivable, and monthly reporting, and will play a key role in helping leadership make informed financial decisions. This is not a back-office, siloed finance role. You’ll work closely with the COO, partners, and department leads to streamline processes, strengthen financial controls, and ensure the firm runs smoothly and profitably. What You’ll Do • Financial Management Reporting • Manage daily and weekly cash flow and liquidity reporting • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages (PL, cash flow statements, billing/collections KPIs) • Work with outside banks and accountants • Maintain the firm’s general ledger and chart of accounts • Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Billing Revenue Cycle Oversight • Oversee prebill edits and final invoice preparation across all practice groups • Ensure time entries are accurately captured and billed • Identify billing discrepancies or inefficiencies and recommend improvements • Work closely with attorneys and support staff to resolve billing questions Accounts Receivable Management • Monitor aging reports and drive AR collections activity • Develop and manage follow-up procedures for overdue balances • Maintain communication logs and escalate client issues when appropriate Accounts Payable & Vendor Management • Oversee invoice intake, approval workflows, and vendor payments • Track firm expenses and help identify cost-saving opportunities • Maintain accurate AP records and ensure timely reconciliation Process Improvement Compliance • Evaluate and enhance accounting workflows and internal controls • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and compliance requirements • Support external accountants during year-end close and tax prep • IOLA/Escrow Administration and Management • Monitor all IOLA/trust account activity in real-time • Reconcile each individual client ledger to the trust account balance daily or weekly (at a minimum monthly) • Trust Deposits Withdrawals - Oversee proper deposit of client retainers and settlement funds into the trust account • Ensure disbursements are made only when earned or properly authorized, and with clear documentation • Confirm disbursements are made to the correct party and supported by closing statements, settlement agreements, or time records Qualifications: Who You Are • 5+ years of progressive accounting and financial operations experience • Experience in a law firm or professional services firm preferred • Strong knowledge of GAAP, cash flow management, and accounting best practices • High proficiency with billing/accounting software and Excel • Excellent communication skills — able to explain financial concepts clearly • Meticulous attention to detail and ownership mentality Compensation: $85,000
