  • Responsibilities

    The Finance Associate assists both the Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer in the areas of risk management, corporate compliance, Sister retirement benefits and bequests. This position is also responsible for income, property, and sales tax compliance. The Finance Associate handles property, liability and vehicle insurance claims. Additionally, the position handles the distribution of vehicle insurance ID cards as well as the timely processing of vehicle additions and deletions. The Finance Associate coordinates the sister and employee driver training and testing sessions. Additional responsibilities include assisting with various aspects of business insurance administration.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Commits to the Felician Sisters of North America's employee mission statement that promotes the dignity of each resident by caring for the needs of the whole person and by providing a safe, functional, and attractive home environment.     2. Upholds the Felician Sisters of North America's Core Values of Respect for Human Dignity, Compassion, Transformation, Solidarity with People in Need, and Justice and Peace in all interactions with all sisters, residents, visitors, and employees.     3. Oversees the administration of property, liability, worker's compensation and vehicle accident insurance claims and communicates with the claim's adjusters. Provides support to Sisters and applicable managers throughout the process.

    4. Maintains master vehicle listing for insurance coverage purposes.

    5. Records and tracks Sister driver's license renewal dates.

    6. Distributes vehicle auto ID cards to applicable locations and/or individuals at the time of insurance renewal, purchase or change in Sister residence.

    7. Coordinates and maintains tracking record of Sister driver training and testing sessions.

    8. Participates in the worker's compensation renewal process by distributing state mandated postings provided by insurance carrier.

    9. Assists in the administration of property/casualty and worker's compensation renewal process,

    including allocating costs to ministries and preparing invoices.

    10. Assists the Fleet Manager with aspects of purchases, sales, and transfers of vehicles, i.e., pulling titles, preparing powers of attorney, etc.

    11. Files Sisters' income tax returns, responds to inquiries from tax authorities and maintains applicable records on a timely basis.

    12. Maintains directory of corporate state registration and property tax report due dates. Files necessary reports.

    13. Completes property tax and sales tax exemption paperwork upon request.

    14. Supports administration of Sister bequests, retirement, and life insurance benefits.

    15. Updates corporate entity permanent files both manually and via submission to the e-room.

    16. Provides financial support and assistance to the sisters as well as to the Provincial staff.

    17. Provides updated data for the Official Catholic Directory on an annual basis.

    18. Attends and participates in meetings, committees, seminars, conferences, and in-service training programs as directed.

    19. Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience:

    1. Minimum of Associate degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance required.

    2. Minimum of five (5) years related administrative experience required.
