  • Responsibilities

    Summary: The main function of a Finance Business/Portfolio Analyst is to maintain vendor relationships, acting as a business analyst for non-IT projects or filling organizational roles above an administrative level, but below a management level. Other responsibilities may include maintaining all project management processes, including project goals, deadlines, metrics and budget.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Driving strategic alignment of investments with business goals

    • Managing financial performance across portfolios (budget, forecast, ROI)

    • Enabling governance and reporting through dashboards and executive insights

    • Supporting prioritization and capital allocation decisions

    • Mitigating risks and ensuring compliance

    • Facilitating stakeholder alignment and communication

    • Optimizing portfolio outcomes through data-driven insights and process improvements

    • Review and approve contracts, cost proposals and contract supplements.

    • Support long-term financial planning and capital allocation

    • Assist leadership in prioritizing initiatives based on value, ROI, and risk

    • Develop and maintain portfolio roadmaps and investment plans

    • Develop budget forecasts, cost models, and financial projections

    • Track actual spend vs. budget (O&M and Capital)

    • Perform variance analysis and recommend corrective actions

    • Establish and maintain portfolio dashboards and reporting standards

    • Track KPIs, financial metrics, and delivery health

    • Produce executive-level portfolio reports and summaries

    • Approve project budgets and expenditures, monitor transaction controls and costs against budgets.

    • Predict potential budget overruns and offer solutions.

    • Consult with corporate offices, project managers, auditors, client and sub-consultant representatives regarding future proposals.

    • Prepare sub-agreements and review and input sub-consultant invoices to ensure contact compliance.

    Skills: • Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, customer service and interpersonal skills. • Strong ability to work independently and manage one’s time. • Strong knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods. • Strong ability to apply accounting and mathematical principles to work as needed. • Strong ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses. • Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel; Enterprise Application experience a plus.

    • Portfolio management tools (e.g., ADO, SAP)
    • Power BI
    • SQL Queries

    Education/Experience: • Bachelor's degree in business management, economics, finance, accounting or relevant field required. • 8-10 years experience required. Additional years of experience preferred.

    • Corporate finance experience is required.
    • Certifications related to project management, reporting, and SQL queries are preferred.
