    Department: Administration & Finance

    Status: Full-Time, Exempt

    Position Summary

    The Finance Director is responsible for managing and developing the Finance Department and overseeing all aspects of accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Financial Reporting. This role ensures the organization’s fiscal health through accurate, timely reporting and sound financial practices that support Quality Connections’ mission of empowering individuals with disabilities through meaningful employment and community inclusion.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Supervise and develop staff in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll to ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant operations.

    Oversee monthly close, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements.

    Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and ensure appropriate internal controls.

    Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes.

    Provide regular financial reports and performance metrics to the CEO and management team.

    Develop and refine accounting policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency and transparency.

    Coordinate annual audits and ensure compliance with federal, state, and grant reporting requirements.

    Monitor departmental performance and identify opportunities for process improvement and staff growth.

    Partner with department heads to ensure fiscal responsibility and alignment with organizational goals.

    Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and benefits in coordination with HR.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Direct supervision of finance staff, including AR/AP and Payroll positions.

    Required Education and Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

    Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in financial management.

    Nonprofit or grant-funded program experience preferred.

    CPA not required, but a solid understanding of GAAP and nonprofit reporting standards strongly desired.
