    Responsibilities:

    Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

    • Collaborate on annual budgeting and forecasting with emphasis on medical and administrative cost drivers
    • Build and refine long-term (5-year) financial models to inform product development and pricing strategies
    • Contribute to capital adequacy analyses including RBC and BCAR methodologies
    • Analyze claims trends, utilization patterns, and program impact on financial performance
    • Evaluate cost-benefit of Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and other operational strategies

    Leadership & Continuous Improvement

    • Supervise and mentor junior finance team members
    • Champion process improvements that drive efficiency and accuracy
    • Uphold strong internal controls across financial functions

    Financial Reporting & Internal Metrics

    • Ensure accurate internal reporting of premiums, claims incurred (incl. IBNR), and administrative expenses
    • Maintain and analyze MLR metrics in alignment with ACA requirements and internal benchmarks
    • Support regulatory filings and audit readiness efforts
    • Stay abreast of evolving financial regulations and their implications on reporting

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    • 4+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, ideally with exposure to both FP&A and reporting
    • Strong command of US GAAP and financial modeling
    • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday)
    • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
    • Excellent communication skills – able to translate complex data into actionable insights
    • CPA, CFA, or MBA, preferred
    • 2-3 years in the health insurance industry, preferred
    • Experience in a public company environment, preferred
    • Background in public accounting, preferred
    • Prior supervisory or team lead experience, preferred
    • Knowledge of claims reserving concepts, MLR, and underwriting principles, preferred
