Overview
The Manager, Finance Technology is responsible for leading the strategy, delivery, and ongoing optimization of critical Finance Technology platforms supporting Sales Audit, Procure-to-Pay, Tax, Financial Reporting, Risk Management, and Compliance. This role partners closely with Finance, Accounting, Procurement, Audit, and Technology leaders to modernize enterprise systems, improve operational performance, and deliver scalable technology solutions that support business growth. Combining strategic leadership with operational excellence, this individual will oversee application delivery, production support, vendor management, and continuous improvement across a global Finance Technology portfolio.
Responsibilities
Finance Technology Strategy & Portfolio Leadership
- Lead the strategy, roadmap, and continuous improvement of enterprise Finance Technology platforms supporting Sales Audit, Procure-to-Pay, Financial Reporting, Tax, Risk Management, Compliance, and related Finance functions
- Partner with business stakeholders to prioritize technology investments, modernization initiatives, and enhancement opportunities aligned with organizational goals
- Drive enterprise-wide Finance Technology transformation initiatives that improve efficiency, scalability, and business performance
- Develop long-term technology roadmaps supporting evolving Finance and Accounting operations
Enterprise Applications & Technology Delivery
- Lead the implementation, integration, enhancement, and operational support of enterprise Finance applications including PeopleSoft Financials, Oracle Cloud Financials, Aptos Sales Audit, Vertex, Vena, Origami, and related platforms
- Ensure technology solutions are reliable, scalable, secure, and aligned with business requirements
- Partner with development, infrastructure, and architecture teams to deliver high-quality solutions and system enhancements
- Support hybrid technology environments consisting of SaaS, cloud, on-premise, and custom-developed applications
Operational Excellence & Governance
- Oversee production support, application performance, incident management, problem resolution, and change management across the Finance Technology portfolio
- Establish operational governance, service level agreements (SLAs), performance metrics, and support processes that ensure business continuity
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, operational efficiency, and service delivery
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen Finance Technology operations and support future growth
Business Partnership & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner closely with Accounting, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Tax, Internal Audit, Risk Management, Loss Prevention, and Finance leadership to deliver technology solutions that improve business processes and financial controls
- Communicate project status, operational performance, risks, and strategic recommendations to business and technology leadership
- Build strong relationships across Finance and Technology organizations while aligning priorities and managing competing business needs
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver successful technology initiatives
Leadership & Vendor Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop Finance Technology professionals while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team environment
- Manage strategic vendor relationships, offshore delivery partners, and third-party support organizations to ensure quality, accountability, and operational excellence
- Drive a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and process improvement across the organization
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience leading Finance Technology portfolios within large, complex enterprise environments
- Strong knowledge of Finance systems supporting Sales Audit, Procure-to-Pay, Financial Reporting, Tax, Risk Management, Compliance, and Accounting operations
- Experience implementing, supporting, and optimizing enterprise Finance applications such as PeopleSoft Financials, Oracle Cloud Financials, Aptos Sales Audit, Vertex, or similar platforms
- Experience managing enterprise application support, production operations, incident management, and operational governance
- Demonstrated success leading Finance Technology transformation initiatives and cross-functional technology projects
- Experience managing strategic vendor relationships and third-party delivery partners
- Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies, Agile practices, and enterprise application lifecycle management
- Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience supporting retail Finance operations and enterprise ERP environments
- Experience working within hybrid cloud, SaaS, and on-premise technology environments
- Familiarity with Mainframe and .NET-based applications
- Experience establishing operational governance frameworks, service metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience leading enterprise modernization or Finance transformation programs
