Publishing Intern
POSITION SUMMARY The Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) is the not-for-profit organization responsible for the oversight and administration of accounting and reporting standards established by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). FAF is seeking a detail-oriented intern to support the publishing team in updating key technical content on our websites. We are looking for a student or recent graduate who is detail-oriented, a logical thinker, and highly efficient to assist the team in processing updates to XML content. This position will be located onsite at our FAF offices, in Norwalk, CT; it is suitable for students looking to gain experience in a corporate environment while enrolled in pre-or post-graduate course work or committed to other part-time obligations, as well as recent graduate students. The intern will work with our content management systems as well as collaboration tools, such as Microsoft SharePoint and JIRA. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES - Update XML (link ranges, redirect links, metadata, archive files, and other content as needed) - Validate updates to XML - Maintain logs of work - Perform all other related duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS - Full-time student, a minimum of senior year in college, or recent graduate - Have a minimum of a B average (cumulative 3.0 on 4.0 scale) - Strong written and verbal communication skills and a general understanding of a business environment and routines - Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision - Demonstrate full responsibility for assigned tasks and target a high level of accuracy and efficiency. - Familiarity with HTML, XML, usage of content management systems, topic-based authoring and Oxygen is preferred but not required.
