    Job Description:

    The Financial Planning and Annuity Planning Teams are currently seeking an intern to support senior planners with day-to-day workflows that include plan development, case design, implementation, and research for ongoing projects. Depending on business needs, this role may focus on financial planning, annuity planning, or a blend of both. The purpose of Valmark’s planning teams is to be an extension of our Member Offices, acting as a reliable partner to assist with their financial planning and annuity planning processes.

    Job Summary:

    The goal of our Financial Planning and Annuity Planning Teams is to be an extension of our Member Offices' individual on-site teams and/or a reliable 3rd party consulting team and resource desk for our outside RIAs, assisting advisors with their financial planning, annuity planning, and servicing needs. In this back-office role, you will develop expertise in the various aspects of Valmark's proprietary financial planning and annuity planning processes as well as general financial planning conversations and terminology. As a Financial Planning and/or Annuity Planning Intern, you will be responsible for assisting onsite and nationwide financial professionals with their day-to-day workflow.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Develop a mastery of Valmark’s financial planning and investment philosophy and annuity planning processes
    • Establish a fundamental knowledge of accumulation planning, retirement planning, and estate planning
    • Understand financial instruments such as ETFs, mutual funds, life insurance, and annuities
    • Provide support with initial plan development and implementation, recommendations, and ongoing revisions and reviews
    • Gather necessary information from various sources, including insurance carriers, Valmark’s clients, and internal sources
    • Prepare investment management and/or annuity proposals to support case design
    • Update current and create new advisor-facing and client-facing material

    Assist with financial planning and annuity planning research in a constantly changing environment

    Requirements:

    • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
    • Currently enrolled pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
    • Availability to work onsite in Akron, OH:
      • 16–24 hours per week during spring and fall semester
      • 30–40 hours per week during summer months

    Pay: $20 per hour
