Position Summary: The Financial Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the integrity of financial data. This role involves managing day-to-day accounting functions, reconciling bank statements, processing payroll, and preparing financial reports in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial statements to ensure accuracy.
Maintain general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting principles.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely manner.
Assist with payroll processing and maintain payroll records.
Monitor company expenditures and help prepare budgets.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
Support external audits and prepare necessary documentation.
Maintain confidentiality and security of all financial data.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).
Strong understanding of bookkeeping practices and accounting principles.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with integrity.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in healthcare, non-profit, or service-based industries.
Knowledge of payroll systems and tax filing requirements.
Familiarity with budgeting and financial forecasting.
