Job Description

The purpose of this position is to effectively communicate with patients regarding their financial concerns and account questions. This individual is also responsible for setting up patients on payment plans, monitoring delinquent accounts, and managing patient accounts.

• Maintain a positive attitude and strive to demonstrate the Rehab Associate Way and Family Code at all times.
• Ensure that all patient payments, including cash or check payments, credit card payments, are posted in TheraOffice the day you receive them.
• Maintain the privacy of patients both within the office and outside of work, following HIPAA guidelines.
• Quickly answer the phone in a friendly manner and assist coworkers and patients who leave voicemail in a timely fashion.
• Set up payment arrangements.
• Review Statement Aging, routinely write off any balances, and initiate demand letters on appropriate accounts.
• Identify patient accounts with denials or those that involve insurance-specific questions.
• Pre-screen patients for financial assistance and evaluate special cases with our financial assistance form.
• Work closely with other members of the billing team. This position will work closely with the Billing Supervisor and Insurance Specialists.
• Participate in team meetings and quarterly meetings as scheduled by supervisors.
