MEDICAL ASSISTANT JOB SUMMARY:

Assist in the back-office examination and treatment of sports medicine patients under physician direction. Interview patients and record information on patients' charts. Prepare treatment rooms for examination of patients. Assist physicians in providing patient care and education

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

Must have 1 year of recent experience in a clinical office setting

Must be able to type a minimum 60 WPM

Previous background in sports medicine or orthopedics preferred

EDUCATION PREFERENCE

Bachelor's degree preferred

Medical Assisting certificate preferred but not required

RESPONSIBILITIES

Patient intake which includes the recording of patient’s medical history, sports history, purpose of visit and goals as relates to presenting injury or chief complaint.

Assist with in-office procedures and injections including x-rays, ultrasound, MLS laser and toenail procedures

Perform gait analysis, including walking, running and shoe analysis

Help patients by providing information, services, and assistance related to treatment and current medical conditions

This position requires a laser-like focus on capturing examination details, and a journalistic approach to listening and recording physician findings. Fast and accurate typing skills are a must.

We're a small but mighty team, whose primary goal is to get the injured athlete back to their sport as quickly as possible, which is why we have all our diagnostics in-house. These include Digital X-ray, Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, Extremity Ultrasound, and a Running Gait Lab which rivals even the best universities.
