    Financial Planning Associate Overview:

    Our organization is seeking a motivated Associate to join its centralized Financial Planning Services team. The Financial Planning Service Associate works with financial representatives to deliver financial security to their clients through a comprehensive planning process that integrates risk and investment products. The Associate will help financial representatives increase productivity by providing planning and integrated operations support.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

    Representative Training and Development

    Promotes, utilizes, and reinforces Northwestern Mutual planning culture, process, and tools.

    Provide training and knowledge transfer on Investment concepts, suitability, and product options.

    Provide coaching for representatives in the presentation of investment cases and the handling of objections from clients.

    Meet with new FPS subscribers to onboard them to the service.

    Complete paperwork for new account opening.

    Run financial plans based on information provided from representatives.

    Process mobile check deposits and provide coverage on checks to NMIS OPS along with coverage for other team members.

    Monitors and reinforces representative adherence with network office’s business guidelines.

    Meet with reps to discuss proposal, analysis, method, opinion and discuss all assumptions.

    Craft financial security solution(s) accurately and in the best interest of clients.

    Share recommendations with representatives and coaches to the delivery of a successful client presentation.

    Identify and inform representatives of tax consequences, costs, and applicable breakpoint information (e.g. sales charges, surrender charges, account transfer fees).

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS

    3-5 years of financial services experience (preferably as an investment sales producer)

    Experience in utilizing a planning process or methodology

    Series 7, 66, or 65 & 63, and Life Insurance license

    Experience with both brokerage and advisory platforms

    Investment philosophy consistent with Northwestern Mutual

    Clean compliance record and background check as determined by home office

    Committed to professional development (e.g. CLU, ChFC, CFP)

    Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance and/or related field

    Strong analytical, problem solving, and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work well with others

    Strong attention to detail
