    Fineview and Perry Hilltop Citizens Councils Communications Specialist (PT) VISION: We build a C.A.R.I.N.G community--one that is Collaborative, Advocating, Respectful, Inspiring, Neighborly, and Gracious. Description: Fineview and Perry Hilltop Citizens Councils are seeking a PT Communications Specialist who can support our communication efforts to engage and support our communities over the next 5 months. Fineview and Perry Hilltop Citizens Councils are two community-development organizations located on the Northside of Pittsburgh. Our work is resident driven with 55 volunteers, three full-time staff and an AmeriCorps VISTA. Last year, volunteers contributed over 1,500 hours in service to the community. See highlights from 2020. In 2018, we completed a comprehensive Community Plan and in 2020, we created a 5 Year Affordable Housing Plan. Our vision is to create a C.A.R.I.N.G community--one that is Collaborative, Advocating, Respectful, Inspiring, Neighborly, and Gracious. We are working to develop our community in a way that all residents benefit, especially those at risk of displacement. We strive to build an equitable and inclusive community. Goals: Work with staff to promote and expand the organizations brands Develop a consistent voice and identity for the organizations on social media, newsletters, e-newsletters, websites, etc. Increase open and share rates of all communications through engaging, inviting, and equitable language as well as other strategies Enhance communications with members and neighbors, supporting stakeholder engagement Responsibilities Include: Manage social media accounts Update Facebook and Instagram Daily (Create weekly schedule for posts) Regularly post content you generate Develop text, graphics, and themes Examples: Inspirational quotes & memes, neighborhood photos, highlight people and places in our neighborhood, community Resources (i.e. jobs, rental assistance, home buyer assistance) Regularly post content provided to you Examples: upcoming meetings, events, community planning, community resources (i.e. jobs, rental assistance, home buyer assistance) Create and manage Facebook Events Update NextDoor Post upcoming meetings and events Grow Audience - Increase neighborhood engagement on social media Track, analyse, and share post responses and engagement levels Produce Quarterly Physical Newsletter Include both content you generate and content provided to you. Example: meetings, events, and community resources (i.e. jobs, rental assistance, home buyer assistance) Produce 1-2 Monthly e-newsletters (MailChimp) Include both content you generate and content provided to you. Example: meetings, events, and community resources (i.e. jobs, rental assistance, home buyer assistance) Manage communications calendar on google calendars Provide tech support for virtual and hybrid meetings and events - FacebookLive, Zoom Streaming, etc. Maintain and update websites regularly with current information (Wix.com and WordPress) Captures photos and/or videos of events that may be outside of regular business hours Attendance at events and fundraisers as requested Skills Needed: Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Able to simultaneously manage a high level of detail across multiple projects Ability to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally. Ability to work independently Positive attitude and flexibility Passion for social justice and community level change Knowledge of North Side communities (preferred) Experience Wanted: Relevant experience (social media, mailchimp, canva, graphic design, FacebookLive, wix.com etc) Experience with diverse populations and communities of color Time & Compensation: $17-20/hour, 10-20 hours/week Location is flexible - Work from Home - Work from Northside-Based Office - Attending some meetings in person on the Northside preferred.
