Job Description
OVERVIEW
Responsible for effectively leading and profitably managing all operational aspects (team, facilities, fleet, inventory, financial management) of assigned Branch in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
PROVIDES TEAM LEADERSHIP:
In partnership with the Operations Manager, effectively leads and manages all activities related to operations team members within assigned area (recruiting, talent management, training and development, coaching and counseling, disciplinary actions).
Training and Development:
Ensures staff is well trained on operational processes and procedures.
Partners with vendors to provide product training when appropriate.
Supports and implement a branch cross training program at each branch.
Coaches and mentors direct reports to develop and improve their leadership skills, organizational/time management skills, and enhance their leadership and management skills.
Trains and develops direct reports on safety compliance and practices to create and maintain a safe work environment for associates.
Manages the training and development of all branch personnel to maximize their effectiveness/productivity
Safety:
Annual Hazmat Training at each branch, and forklift training where we have forklifts, and document the training.
Ensures safe working conditions, safe practices and the ongoing delivery of safety training at our locations
MANAGES THE FACILITY, FLEET, INVENTORY, ASSETS AND DOCUMENTATION
Facility:
Effectively manages the layout and utilization of the facility space.
Ensures a clean and organized workspace.
Ensures compliance with safety rules and regulations.
Works with appropriate parties for the upkeep and maintenance of facilities.
Performs similar and related duties to achieve objectives while using methods consistent with the FinishMaster culture.
Fleet:
Inventory:
Ensures proper inventory turns to reduce obsolescence and manage working capital invested.
Ensures inventory turns are at a level that is cost productive to the locations and ensuring monthly cycle count activity is performed at each branch location per published company schedule.
Ensures that their branches have the “right” inventory at the “right” place at the “right” time in order to reduce un-necessary excess and result in 100% customer order fulfillment.
Develops a thorough understanding of safety stock logic as well as all planning parameters of the FMST point of sale purchasing system and performing updates on a consistent basis.
Assets and Documentation
Responsible for ensuring the security of the branch, inventory and vehicles.
Ensures that all processes and procedures are followed and complied with related to branch cash (cash on hand, daily deposits, etc.).

Communication:
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (WORD, Excel) and previous ERP experience.
Strong Execution Skills
Experience driving execution successfully and operationalizing talent strategies in an organization recognized for excellence in talent management.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, projects and issues with agility in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment.
Analytical:
Strong problem solving skills; ability to think strategically and critically in developing solutions to complex problems.
Understanding of financial statements (P&Ls) and how to positively affect them through action
