The Cleaner is responsible for cleaning and restoring a wide range of customer and client personal belongings using SERVPRO’s specialized cleaning products, equipment, and processes. This role requires attention to detail, care in handling items of varying value and sensitivity, and adherence to SERVPRO’s quality and safety standards. By providing consistent, thorough cleaning services, the Cleaner helps ensure customer satisfaction and supports SERVPRO’s reputation as a leader in cleanup and restoration.
Primary Responsibilities • Clean, sanitize, and restore a variety of personal belongings and household contents, including furniture, clothing, electronics, and other items. • Safely use SERVPRO-branded cleaning products and equipment following established procedures. • Inspect items to determine appropriate cleaning methods and document condition before and after cleaning. • Package, label, and track customer contents for cleaning, storage, and return. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, including the cleaning facility and equipment. • Adhere to safety and risk management guidelines at all times. • Communicate with supervisor and team members to ensure efficient workflows. • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to respond to after-hours emergency service needs. • Assist with general warehouse organization and cleaning duties as assigned. • Other tasks/duties as required by employer.
Education & Experience • High school diploma/GED preferred • Experience in cleaning, restoration, or customer service preferred • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
Work Environment • Regularly lifting up to 25 pounds; occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance • Standing, walking, bending, and repetitive movements for extended periods of time • Working with a variety of cleaning products and chemicals (proper PPE provided) • Exposure to dust, odors, and occasional moderate to loud noise levels • The employee will be required to wear a respirator for safety and must successfully pass the required medical evaluation and respirator fit testing as a condition of employment.
Normal Working Hours | Additional Working Hours | Travel Requirements This is a full-time position working 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday (40 hours per week). This position frequently requires long hours (beyond 8-hour days), including some evening and weekend work. Participation in an on-call rotation for emergency response outside of normal hours is required. Travel is minimal but may occasionally be required for offsite cleaning or customer delivery.
