    BPR Consulting Group ( www.bpr-grp.com ) is seeking experienced Fire Inspector to join our growing company and serve our clients. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available for qualified candidates.

    Under supervision, the successful candidate will inspect, examine, evaluate, and approve the construction or alteration of fire safety systems, and approve the construction or alteration of buildings, structures, and properties for fire hazards and for compliance with local fire ordinances and state laws.

    Essential Duties:

    The essential duties noted below are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, functions, and skills. They are intended to be a summary of key job responsibilities and duties.

    • Conduct inspections of new construction and fire protection systems and periodic inspections of commercial, industrial, and other facilities to ensure compliance with fire, life safety, and related codes and ordinances.
    • Prepare detailed reports on conditions and violations and conduct follow-up inspections as required.
    • Advise developers, contractors, property owners, and the public in matters related to fire prevention, code enforcement, and hazardous materials storage and disposal.
    • Interpret codes and regulations and explain permit programs and compliance conditions.
    • Coordinate fire prevention inspection work with that of building inspection, safety, public health, and related City and local agency services.
    • Observe, test, and demonstrate use of various fire protection and detection systems and equipment and fire extinguishers.
    • Maintain current knowledge of codes, regulations, construction methods and materials, and fire protection and detection systems.
    • Perform related duties as assigned.

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Two (2) plus years of paid inspections experience with a fire department; OR inspection experience with a local government building department or code enforcement department.
    • Knowledge of fire safety systems used in residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.
    • Knowledge of the California Fire Code, California Building Code, State law and nationally recognized standards.

    Certification Requirements:

    • Current ICC Certification as a Fire Inspector 1 or 2 or Fire Plans Examiner or Equal ** __**
