Fire Protection Estimator - Industrial and Commercial - Base Salary to 115k/year - Chicago, IL

• They are seeking a Fire Protection Estimator to join their estimating team. This individual will focus on large-value estimates across firestopping systems, including through-penetration, joint firestopping, and fire-resistive assemblies within healthcare, senior living, and commercial construction environments. The role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the U.S. and involves collaborating with project teams nationwide to develop competitive and accurate proposals.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and manage customer Requests for Quote (RFQs) and project proposals, ensuring full understanding of firestopping scope, drawings, and specifications.
  
• Prepare comprehensive estimates for firestopping systems, including penetrations, head-of-wall, bottom-of-wall, and expansion joint assemblies across industrial and commercial projects.
  
• Interpret and extract data from construction drawings, UL assemblies, and MTOs to quantify materials and labor requirements.
  
• Consolidate takeoff data and cost inputs to generate detailed firestopping proposals.
  
• Collaborate with operations, field supervision, and project management to validate scope, productivity factors, sequencing, access limitations, and code-driven requirements.
  
• Support bid reviews and presentations, ensuring alignment with customer expectations, codes and compliance standards, and company requirements.
  
• Maintain consistent estimating practices and documentation for audit, compliance tracking, and project handoff.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of firestopping estimating experience in commercial or industrial environments, including healthcare, assisted living, rehabilitation, and new construction projects.
  
• Strong knowledge of firestopping systems, including through-penetrations, cable tray systems, head-of-wall, bottom-of-wall, and expansion joint fire protection.
  
• Skilled at reading and interpreting architectural, life safety, and fire protection drawings, including UL assemblies and specifications.
  
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex estimates and meet multiple bid deadlines.

• Base salary in the 80k - 115k/year range
