We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Suppression Technician to join our elite field service team. This position is ideal for a well-rounded technician with deep code knowledge, advanced troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to customer-tailored service, integrity, and reliability.

    Position Overview

    The Fire Suppression Technician is responsible for inspecting, installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of fire and life safety systems. This role builds upon fire extinguisher and kitchen suppression responsibilities and expands into advanced pre-engineered systems and related fire protection technologies. Technicians in this role are trusted subject-matter experts who can identify deficiencies, explain code requirements, and deliver compliant, high-quality solutions in the field.

    Key Responsibilities

    Fire Suppression & Life Safety Systems

    Inspect, test, service, and install:

    All types of fire extinguishers

    Commercial kitchen fire suppression systems

    Pre-engineered fire suppression systems

    Related fire alarm and security system components (as applicable)

    Troubleshoot and identify defective components within pre-engineered suppression systems

    Perform on-site emergency troubleshooting, repairs, and system restorations

    Identify NFPA code violations and non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actions

    Codes, Standards & Compliance

    Demonstrate comprehensive working knowledge of NFPA codes, standards, and system requirements

    Interpret, apply, and clearly explain applicable laws, codes, and regulations to customers and internal teams

    Ensure all inspections, repairs, and installations meet federal, state, and local code requirements

    Tools, Equipment & Field Operations

    Use required tools and test equipment, including:

    Power machine groovers

    Pipe cutters and band saws

    Lifts and ladders

    Hand and power tools

    Repair or replace fire extinguishers and pre-engineered suppression systems as needed

    Safely operate and maintain small/light equipment and medium machinery

    Inspect and maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment, submitting repair requests as necessary

    Documentation & Customer Communication

    Accurately document inspections, deficiencies, repairs, and testing using a company-issued smart device

    Communicate findings, code issues, and recommendations clearly and professionally with customers

    Represent Safety Control with professionalism at all customer sites

    Required Qualifications

    Current FEL-A license issued by the Texas State Fire Marshal’s Office OR ability to obtain an FEL-A within 30 days of hire

    Strong working knowledge of fire suppression systems and applicable NFPA codes and standards

    Clean driving record

    Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

    High proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment

    Excellent troubleshooting, organization, and communication skills

    Strong punctuality and ability to work independently in the field

    Preferred Qualifications (Highly Valued)

    Fire Alarm License (Texas)

    Major plus and includes an additional pay increase

    Manufacturer certifications (Ansul, Pyro-Chem, Kidde, etc.)

    Experience with integrated fire alarm, suppression, and security systems
