Role Overview
The Fire and Security Sales Consultant is responsible for promoting and selling fire products to a diverse clientele, including commercial, industrial, and retail prospects. This role is well-suited for an experienced outside sales representative, and we offer comprehensive training on our products and services. The key responsibilities will include cultivating robust client relationships, staying abreast of industry trends, and successfully achieving sales targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify prospective customers using directories, networking leads, referrals, and other leads.
- Assess potential clients' fire and security needs, proposing customized, code-compliant solutions.
- Prepare and submit sales contracts and related transactions for orders.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of fire alarm systems, intrusion detection, access control, video surveillance, and related technologies, including AI and advanced analytics.
- Develop and present professional sales proposals that align with customer requirements, industry regulations (e.g., NFPA, UL, AHJ), and business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and ensuring long-term satisfaction and service continuity.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Project Management, and Operations teams to ensure smooth system design, installation, and service delivery.
- Stay informed of market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes to identify business development opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and professional networking functions to grow market presence and expertise.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of sales, consulting, or technical experience in the fire alarm, life safety, or electronic security industry.
- Proven success in business development, solution sales, or customer relationship management.
- Industry certifications such as NICET, ESA, or manufacturer-specific training (e.g., Honeywell, Bosch, Axis) are a plus.
- Strong consultative selling and communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation.
- Ability to assess site-specific conditions and design customized security/fire solutions.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms, MS Office Suite, and proposal generation tools.
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to obtain IL Dept of Labor PERC card, which requires a background check
The PASS Benefit:
