    Job Description

    The FireEye Labs Research and Custom Engineering (RCE) group is expanding its Quick Response Capability (QRC) team tasked with delivering rapid technical solutions to the FireEye/Mandiant Consulting practice. As an intern in the RCE-QRC team you will receive requirements from the Consulting team, work with senior members of the QRC team to identify the appropriate technology to get the job done, and get the job done... quickly! 

    Candidates should possess a broad technical skillset and the ability to deliver reliable software (read: you are also the QA team). Ideal candidates will already have a background in computer security fields such as computer and network forensics, penetration testing, and intrusion detection/response. 

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Write, test, and maintain codebases across multiple architectures and operating systems 
    • Design, deliver, and support technical solutions for FireEye Consulting 
    • Collaborate with team mates during Scrum sessions 
    • Promote strict code testing and validation to ensure high-quality coding standards

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

     

    • Sufficient maturity/experience to work on a fully remote team 
    • At least 2+ years of experience in software design and development 
    • Programming skills with interpreted languages such as Python 
    • Knowledge in Windows and/or Linux operating system internals 
    • Knowledge in Windows and/or Linux forensics

     

     

    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Programming skills with compiled languages such as C or Go 
    • Knowledge of internals of Python and other interpreted languages 
    • Understanding of one or more operating system internals from user land to kernel land 
    • Experience with ElasticSearch, Logstash and Big Data systems 
    • Experience implementing Serverless computing solutions

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION (US POSITIONS ONLY):  The QRC is a fully remote team. Therefore, all of your daily team interactions will be through online collaboration platforms. Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they have sufficient maturity/experience to work independently. The intern will be expected to work from either our Reston, VA or NYC office.
