Job Description

Mandiant Security Validation (formerly Verodin) is looking for an intern with experience in computer science and/or cybersecurity. The Threat Research intern will work as part of the Behavioral Research Team (BRT) as a Threat Analyst researching current and emerging adversary behaviors. As part of the internship, the intern will complete a project focusing on real-world attacks, replicating them with the Mandiant Validation Security Instrumentation Platform (SIP).

Responsibilities

• Research adversary tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs)
• Analyze malicious executables, scripts, documents, and packet captures
• Reproduce adversary behaviors with the Validation SIP

Qualifications

Required: 

• Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or Intelligence Analysis major 
• Knowledge of cyber threats, malware, vulnerability research or related area of cybersecurity 
• Experience with PowerShell 
• Ability to work in a team environment

Desired:

• Experience with Python 
• Experience with malware analysis or vulnerability research 
• Participated in Cyber-Defense (such as CCDC) and/or Cyber Security Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions
