    The Law Office

    Small yet influential law office specializing in cannabis law and licensing is seeking an Of Counsel or Contract Attorney to assist with civil business transactional matters. Clientele are primarily family businesses, solopreneurs, women and minority owned businesses, equity applicants, and legacy cannabis operators. The Law Office's primary values are integrity, equity, and affordability.

    The Role & Requirements

    The position is 5-20 hours/month. You will be assigned to clients/projects as needed to assist with business structuring and civil business transactions. You will provide pragmatic advice on legal and business decisions and their risks.

    You must have experience drafting and negotiating contracts and business deals in the cannabis industry and some familiarity with standard industry practices.

    The Law Office was virtual/mobile prior to Covid and will continue to be so after offices reopen. If you are in the Bay Area we have a coworking space available in Oakland if an in-person meeting is absolutely required. If you are not local, other arrangements can be made.

    Must be a licensed member of the California Bar. You can be located anywhere in the state.

    The Expectations

    Due to the virtual/mobile nature of the Law Office and independent nature of the position, there are high expectations for resourcefulness and adhering to office policies and procedures. In addition, due to the nature of cannabis laws and clients it is essential that you are able to spot issues arising under the CA Bar's Rules of Professional Conduct and appropriately respond.
