Reports To: Senior Public Relations Manager

The Public Relations Coordinator will be responsible for administrative functions for the Firehouse Subs Public Relations Team (PR team) including coordinator of publicity reports, document control/management, developing media lists, monitoring trends, reviewing publications and some media relations support, with potential to work on social influencer relations. This position reports to the Senior Public Relations Manager and will support the greater Firehouse Subs Public Relations Team, as needed.
Essential functions:
Assist the PR team with all facets of public relations for the brand and its franchise community
Monitor and track media coverage
Draft newsletters and media highlights reports on behalf of the PR team
Develop and maintain accurate media lists
Participate in quarterly PR meetings with PR agency
Assist field PR team with presentation drafts
Draft and/or proofread press releases, media pitches and briefing documents, as needed
Review media outlets and identify trends to PR team
Assist PR team with analyze metrics to track PR initiatives
Create and distribute meeting minutes
Participate in the planning, implementation and evaluation of field PR and brand PR programs
Process inbound email from PR team inbox, as directed
Coordination of media choreography with PR team, as needed
Special events support
Event photography
Acquire thorough knowledge of the many differentiators of Firehouse Subs, the restaurant industry and Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation

Required education and experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field
One to two years of public relations work experience (can include serious internships); knowledge of agency or corporate public relations, or journalism
Experienced agency internship or prior PR-related internships
Understanding of the role between agency and client
Ability to be cross-trained
Strong writing and editing skills
Proficient in AP style
Strong attention to detail
Positive attitude and self-starter
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously; thrives under pressure
Experience with graphic design and/or publishing software is a plus
Experience with photography and video production is a plus
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Preferred education and experience:
Restaurant industry experience is a plus
