Field Marketing Manager
Reports To: Director of Field Marketing
The Firehouse Subs® Marketing Department is an exciting, fast-paced and high energy environment, and supports more than 1,170 restaurants across 46 states, Canada and Puerto Rico.
Firehouse Subs is seeking a qualified candidate to fulfill the role of Field marketing Manager. The Field Marketing Manager provides an inventive and analytic marketing perspective to the Firehouse Subs franchisees and restaurants in a defined region. The ideal candidate will be both strategic and tactical; comfortable laying out a larger plan as well as implementing small details with a franchisee. The role serves as a local, hands-on partner to support and guide franchisees’ individual restaurant marketing efforts and is in place to lead, inspire, and assist DMA-wide or regional marketing efforts. Field Marketing Managers are also instrumental in ongoing marketing planning and generating sales growth in collaboration with the Director of Field Marketing, overall marketing team, and agency partners.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Market / DMA-wide
Coordinate with agency and/or internal media resources to provide DMA-wide media recommendations, when funds are available
Explore, recommend, negotiate and implement DMA-wide marketing efforts designed to support sales and traffic at all locations in the DMA
Support building overall brand awareness and driving measurable restaurant-level traffic
Support both the overall (daily) menu and catering sales efforts
Present and implement new ideas from other DMAs
Propose and lead testing new program concepts
Coordinate on all co-op spending (budgets)
Franchisee-level
Monitor, diagnose, and proactively intervene when location sales are negatively impacted
Provide actionable, specific marketing recommendations
Follow up and support implementation with the franchisee
Present opportunities to invest additional marketing funds, when needed
Assist franchisees in coordinating assets media such as billboards, digital or other local efforts
Meet with and counsel franchisees on marketing actions on a regular basis
Provide hands-on support for marketing new restaurant openings

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from four year college/university or equivalent
3+ years field marketing or agency experience in a franchise business preferred
Experience working with franchise owners
Agency background in account service preferred
Strong local restaurant marketing experience is essential
Intermediate to advanced experience with PowerPoint, Word and Excel
Able to effectively multi-task and manage competing priorities
Able to communicate in both written and verbal form with conviction and credibility, adapting message to suit level of audience
Strong analytical abilities and understanding of franchise business model and restaurant profitability issues
Strong written and verbal skills and ability to interface effectively with HQ team members and franchisees with ability to influence decision making using consumer and business insight to drive results
Flexibility, a positive attitude, enthusiasm and excellent problem solving skills required
Experience in planning and managing budgets
Ability to work independently and with teams
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
