Reports To: Senior Manager of Analytics
The Firehouse Subs® Department of Reporting and Analytics is an exciting, fast-paced and high energy environment, and the hub of data analysis for more than 1180 restaurants across 46 states, Puerto Rico and Canada.
Firehouse Subs is seeking a qualified candidate to fulfill the role of Performance Analyst where he/she will assist the Reporting & Analytics team with interpreting and analyzing data, creating reports, and producing analyses that create actionable insights to be used in making strategic decisions for the company.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Produce analysis and analytical reporting on sales, menu items, and other key metrics from a variety of data sources while effectively communicating the story behind the results, asking “why” questions about the results and investigating where appropriate
Manipulate raw data exported from SQL Server or business intelligence (BI) platform into a useable format and structure within Microsoft Excel to create reports, or to support analysis that delivers key insights
Generate charts, graphs and other data visualizations of trends and insights using Excel and PowerPoint
Create aesthetically pleasing and polished presentation materials, based on analysis, for the Executive Team’s review
Manage and maintain reoccurring reports and analyses, including:
Quarterly summary of guest experience and industry trends
Weekly analysis of net sales, marketing promotions, guest experience, and menu mix performance
Analysis of LTO or product test performance
Monthly review of restaurant rankings and associated trends
Produce ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed
Distribute reports and analyses through emails, webinars, or meetings to an audience ranging from novice to executive level
Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of company and restaurant industry trends
Become a “Power User” of vendor platforms and leverage data from multiple sources including our in-house BI platform, loyalty program, online ordering, and other industry-related data collected via consumer surveys
Continual validation and assessment of integrity of data used within reports and analyses
Help increase efficiencies of the department by sharing workload and being able to produce accurate, reliable work independently

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics or Marketing or equivalent experience
2+ years’ experience as a Business, Financial, Performance, or Marketing Analyst
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including complex formulas and pivot tables) and PowerPoint
An eye for aesthetics and highly values quality of end product
Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation
Excellent problem solving, and demonstrates abilities in learning new skills
Strong time-management skills and the ability to effectively multi-task and manage competing priorities
Ability to use sound judgment, including maintaining confidentiality
Ability to work independently and with teams, both within the department and cross-functionally
Strong sense of urgency to complete task in timely manner while also displaying commitment to produce high-quality work
Preferred Education and Experience:
Restaurant or retail experience highly preferred
Experience using SQL Server to extract data from relational databases
