Our youth group is small but rapidly growing, and we need a gifted leader called to ministry to come and serve alongside an incredible team! Purpose: To enhance our vision of Jesus-centered community, specifically by providing leadership in the area of youth ministry. Responsibilities: - Be in whole-hearted agreement with the vision, mission, and values of First Baptist Church of Haverhill, MA. Become a member in good standing and a positive influence on the church family. - Attend staff meetings, staff training events and leadership retreats. - Work collaboratively with Pastor for Preaching and Vision in achieving youth ministry goals that reflect our vision and mission. - Lead and facilitate a weekly youth group gathering - Recruit, evaluate, and approve volunteers throughout the year from within the church body to serve in the church's youth ministry. - Facilitate evangelistic efforts to reach out to the surrounding community's youth. Expectations: - Professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and a commitment to personal spiritual growth. - The applicant shall continue learning to maintain a high quality of spiritual leadership. - An annual performance review will be done with the Lead Pastor. - The Minister to Youth shall seek professional relationships with other church leaders and keep abreast of developments through associations, continuing education, and the use of professional church publications. Experience: The Minister to Youth should have gifting and experience of effective ministry with teenagers. This individual should be able to communicate well and in a grace-filled manner with the pastors and elders, church staff and volunteers and members of the congregation. Relevant ministry degree is helpful but not required. Reports to Pastor for Preaching and Vision.
