    The Opportunity

    The Machinist performs duties to include but not limited to in house machine work, repairs, and upgrades to customer’s machinery and to repair used or manufacture new components per drawings and procedures.

    Responsibilities

    1. Perform shop repairs and machining operations.
    2. Manufacture new components per drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions with some limited supervision. Requires attention to detail and very few reworks, rejections, or scrap parts.
    3. Coordinate with Lead Man to ensure special repairs requirements are met.
    4. Organize and maintain an efficient clean machine shop area.
    5. Work overtime as required to meet customer emergency breakdown demands.
    6. Willingness to learn and test for advancements based on abilities and ambitions presented by the employee.
    7. Perform and promote safety standards within shop environment.

    Qualifications

    1. A strong hands-on and working knowledge of the manufacture and assembly of close tolerance turbo-machinery components.
    2. Minimum of Fifteen (15) years of machinist experience.
    3. A strong hands-on and working knowledge of machine shop practices and equipment.
    4. Requires manual dexterity and ability to operate manual machines, tracer mills, manual VTL, Boring Mill (Line Bore).
    5. The ability to work with close tolerance equipment under supervision from other machinist, Lead Man or Foreman.
    6. Some mechanical experience required for resolution of equipment problems and recommended repairs.
    7. Requires strong machinist problem solving and math skills. Must be able to make tools, as required to improve repairs.
    8. Requires proficient verbal and written communication skills (English).
    9. Ability to complete documentation and written reports, read MFG drawings, Blueprints. Ability to makes sketches and accurately read precision measuring tools.
    10. Very organized, good interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, “can do” attitude.
    11. Ability to understand and comply with regulations and processes in the repair procedures.
    12. Requires the ability to work component repairs from start to finish with few or no questions on procedures.
    13. Strengths include a very strong safety work ethic maintaining a clean efficient work area.
