SUMMARY STATEMENT:The Senior Healthcare Data Analyst - SAS is responsible for writing and running SAS programs for the purpose of extracting data from the FCSO data warehouse to generate reports and conduct simple and complex data analyses.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs advanced SAS programming. Conducts complex analyses of Medicare claims, Medicare provider, and Medicare beneficiary data for strategy development, workload assessment, provider education, and medical review audits. Performs quality assessment of SAS programs to ensure the code creates accurate and complete data sets and/or reports.Performs other duties as the supervisor may, from time to time, deem necessary. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience5 or more years of SAS programming experienceStrong data analysis skillsCritical thinking skillsBasic knowledge of statisticsBasic knowledge of Medicare Part A and B programsStrong data mining skills to thoroughly review and analyze data to discover vital information to lower claims error rate and reduce outlier billing patternsProficient in Word and Excel PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Good working knowledge ofFISS claims processing systemMCS claims processing systemMedical terminologyCPT, ICD-9, and HCPCS coding structuresExperience with relational databases.Base SAS certification.Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, or computer science.
