    We are seeking a dynamic and motivated DESIGN ENGINEER INTERN in our Corona, California office. This person will work alongside design engineers who are responsible for designing and reviewing force resisting components and systems used in light-framed buildings. The Intern position provides invaluable experiences applying the knowledge and skills learned through education in a business environment. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    Required Skills

    PRIMARY DUTIES:

    • Read structural plans and documents to identify structural components and elements.
    • Perform analyses of lateral force resisting components and systems (wood and steel) used in light-framed wood buildings under supervision of senior-level team members.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and provide preliminary designs.
    • Assist in preparation of technical documents and bulletins.
    • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, design codes, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
    • Assist in providing technical support of MiTek Builder Product lateral components to sale teams and answering questions from engineers and construction professionals via telephone and email.

    QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING:

    • Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering with emphasis in structural engineering (Junior or Senior year).
    • At least a 3.0 GPA is required
    • Have working understanding of structural plans.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.

    Attendance during regular work hours is required
