    The 2nd shift Process Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting Process Engineers in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of all related manufacturing equipment and processes in the circuit card assembly department. Second shift hours are 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday). The Process Engineering Technician role supports manufacturing a high quality product in a repeatable and cost effective manner. As such the successful candidate should have background and experience in surface mount technology (SMT) and through-hole manufacturing processes, knowledge of programming, experience supporting automated placement systems, solder reflow processes as well as an understanding of electronic product introduction and development. This role supports assembly processes for the SMT, Selective Solder and Final Fabrication areas for circuit card builds.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide “on the floor” technical support as required for critical process and product issues. • Program, setup and debug SMT assembly equipment. Equipment includes solder paste printer, pick and place reflow solder oven, AOI, selective wave solder and aqueous wash. • Support documentation creation and updates (i.e. work instructions, routings and other procedures for the use by production personnel). • Maintain in process quality control systems to ensure product quality. • Support continuous improvement projects. • Suggest ongoing product and process improvements to meet quality, CPI, CI, and production goals. • Support PFMEA and product/process risk analysis of new products. • Support new manufacturing processes. • Support prototype builds and process development.

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS: • HS diploma or GED equivalent • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting SMT/CCA manufacturing engineering processes. • Must have strong knowledge with surface mount and through-hole technologies. • Must be familiar with IPC/EIA J-STD-001C. • Must have a working knowledge of CAD software, Pick 'N Place software, and databases. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Must be a self-starter and a team player. • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

     

    DESIRED QUALIFICATION:

    • Associate or Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electronic or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited school.
