    First Consulting Inc. is a full-service software development consulting firm that supports clients throughout the country. Starting 25 years ago, we've grown to a team of 80 consultants who work on projects that affect our everyday lives! We are currently recruiting for a Linux Dev in partnership with one of Rochester's largest medical device companies. We've got a great collaborative team, and we'd welcome the opportunity to discuss the work with you.

    Shift: Standard office hours of 8am to 5pm

    Project Duration: 12 months +

    Pay: $110,000 and up

    Scope of the role:

    • Driver development and new hardware bring up on Embedded Linux
    • Integrate various software into build systems.
    • Setup, test, maintain and improve production operating systems of embedded systems.
    • Strong C/C++ coding skills Expert Linux knowledge (kernel, CPU architecture, general device drivers, user-space)
    • Experience in Yocto is a must
    • Experience with security features such as secure boot, SELinux and trusted execution environments
    • Experience building for embedded system applications using Linux
    • Experience with Python, Perl or Shell scripting

    Qualifications Needed:

    • BS or MS in related field
    • Expereince in device driver development
    • Familiarity with medical device design processes, quality standards (ISO 13485), and regulatory requirements (FDA) is a significant advantage.
