    Job Description

    Summary 

    A Member Service Representative provides support and service to all members by identifying opportunities to improve our member’s financial well-being by cross-selling credit union products, and performing member transactions, by providing exceptional service and to strive for member satisfaction in every transaction.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:   •    Comply and follow Bank Secrecy Act regulations •    Assist in the coaching, training and the development of tellers •    Record all transactions promptly, accurately and in compliance with the Credit Union procedures •    Ensure compliance with all internal controls and established policies •    Post transactions to member accounts accurately and maintain member records/confidentiality •    Perform all Teller functions •    Perform service for Members such as ordering loan coupons, checks, preparing cashier checks, temporary checks, gift cards and issuing ATM/Debit cards •    Assist with opening and closing the branch, by following the Credit Unions procedures •    Supports Assistant and Branch Manager in conducting mandatory monthly cash audits such as ATM, Vault and ECD machines •    Assists with change fund duties to include, but not limited to replenishing cash for teller drawers or cash machines, placing and verifying cash orders for the branch, and maintaining adequate cash levels. •    Evaluate needs of members and offer appropriate financial products and services •    Prepare and compile new member applications and information to open new accounts including IRA, Share Certificate and Money Market accounts •    Originate consumer and real estate loans by interviewing applicants •    Ensure completeness of loan documentation and conduct loan closings •    Post transactions and update member information as necessary •    Respond to member requests to research accounts to resolve discrepancies  •    Perform settlement of deceased accounts •    Promote and cross-sell other Credit Union products and services when appropriate  •    Assist members in setting-up distributions of payroll and direct deposit •    Attend morning and evening meetings and trainings as necessary •    Adhere to help enforce all security procedures as well as other departmental policies and procedures •    Other duties may be assigned  

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

                       

    •    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) •    Two years prior Teller and Financial Sales Consultants experience •    Leadership Experience

    •    Successfully complete all mandatory compliance courses (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, etc) •    Customer Service – To provide friendly, professional, personal service to all Members and respond promptly to their needs •    Strong people skills •    Interpersonal Skills - Maintain confidentiality •    Teamwork - Contribute to building a positive team spirit •    Leadership - Motivate, assign and assist Tellers in daily work •    Quality – Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills •    Quantity - Meet productivity standards •    Ability to cross-sell credit union products/services •    Ability to prioritize and manage multifunctional tasks •    Demonstrate the ability to engage and interact confidently with clients
