The Role - First Lego League Coaching You'll independently lead FLL Coaching as an afterschool programs our company's sponsored team. At BBX, Instructors own their classroom to support our afterschool program for our students. You'll receive structured onboarding, hands-on training, and a direct escalation line to BBX leadership when you need it. If you thrive with autonomy and want to build real teaching experience fast, this is your role.
What You'll Do
Lead FLL Challenger team with students age between 9 - 14.
Facilitate hands-on FLL coaching with science activities in chemistry, biology, and applied STEM
Act as the lead coach or Junior Coach to the existing lead coach.
Work with the Director, Assistant Director towards success of the FLL Challenger program.
Support students with learning differences using positive reinforcement strategies.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, high-energy learning environment.
Handle classroom setup, materials, and basic inventory.
Communicate student updates to parents and caregivers as directed.
Attend team check-ins and required BBX training sessions.
What We Are Looking For
Must have prior experience with either FLL, FTC, or FRC competitions.
Must have either participated in or led the teams for any renowned robotics champtionships.
High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's in Education, STEM, or related field preferred
Prior experience in an educational setting required — tutoring centers (Kumon, Sylvan, etc.), STEM camps, learning academies, or afterschool programs qualify
Understanding of Neurodiversity learning needs and support
Comfortable managing a classroom independently
Strong communicator with students, parents, and teammates
Reliable, adaptable, and mission-aligned
Hands-on chemistry or biology project experience is a plus
