    Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, the Quality Control Analyst is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our appraisal QC review process by reviewing the quality and compliance of residential appraisal reports in order to ensure superior appraisal quality and consistency. The Quality Control Analyst will work with external fee-appraisers to ensure successful execution of First Look’s expectations for quality and vendor performance that are required to provide a superior customer service experience.  Job duties include reviewing and scoring appraisals for quality/compliance, following current review procedures and policies, identifying any inefficiencies in the review process, and working with the Quality Control team to eliminate inefficiencies.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Provide high level quality control analysis of completed appraisal reports as needed to meet customer expectations.
    • Identify the appraisals that do not conform to First Look’s Vendor Engagement Letter and work with the appraiser to ensure the report is corrected and returned in an acceptable format
    • Identify potential appraisal deficiencies concerning compliance to AMC guidelines, industry standard guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddy Mac, FHA), and client specific requirements
    • Communicate any issues with the appraisers and request revised reports as necessary, including follow up to insure the timely receipt of the revised reports
    • Communicate with underwriters on appraisal report issues requiring any clarification or corrections
    • Utilize leading edge technology to assess whether residential appraisals comply with regulatory guidelines and bank policy
    • Act as an internal point of contact for appraisal related questions from other First Look teams

    Skills & Requirements:

    • 1 year minimum experience in a real estate related Quality Control position (mortgage broker/loan officer, loan processor, underwriting, appraisal or appraisal review department within at a mortgage lending institution or quality control group within an appraisal management company or appraisal firm) or residential collateral underwriting experience or 3 years AMC Operational experience. 
    • Enjoy a fast-paced, detail and deadline oriented environment
    • Required to take the 15 hour USPAP training course and pass a test within the first 6 months of employment
    • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
    • Strong problem solving skills – ability to work independently
    • Be a team player with a positive attitude
    • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and listening
    • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Eager to accept greater levels of responsibility
    • Willing to learn, expand knowledge base, and proactively research issues
