    Position will work from their home and provide coverage to community banking clients/prospects primarily in the East and Central Texas market.The Correspondent Lending Officer is responsible for acting as the primary relationship officer with our correspondent banking clients as well as developing new correspondent banking business with community financial institutions throughout the Texas market. Responsibilities include growing all FNBB product/service lines in the market. The position is responsible for attaining established individual, department and company goals.

    Manages a loan portfolio and responsible for annual growth of the portfolio.

    Engages in business development activities and solicitation of new business prospects; actively involved in instilling and maintaining a positive sales environment through education of the company’s products and services; investigates and follows-up on significant changes in status of existing customers; meets with customers to discuss needs and outline appropriate company services and to resolve problems as necessary; assists in the organization of the department, coordinating available resources (e.g., staff, materials, etc.) for maximum results; and reviewing marketing strategies in relation to department and Bank goals and recommending suitable marketing approaches.

    Reinforces the application of superior customer service through his or her example along with appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees; conducts specific periodic meetings and presentations on this topic with department officers and staff members.

    Contributes to the overall profitability of the company; assists in the implementation of costs controls, income generation, and regional marketing efforts.

    Assists other officers in resolving inquiries and providing support; participates in various internal committees assigned by senior management.

    Maintains an advanced knowledge of financial industry status and trends.

    Responds to inquiries or refers inquiries to the appropriate department or person, and exhibiting the necessary follow through with customers and/or staff involved.

    Processes, solves and answers complex customer transactions, problems or inquiries.

    Treats people with respect; keeps commitments; inspires the trust of others; works ethically and with integrity; upholds organizational values; accepts responsibility for own actions.

    Follows policies and procedures; completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports the company’s goals and values; benefits the company through outside activities.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Prior experience working in the Texas market in a commercial banking or correspondent banking capacity.

    Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from a four year college or university; minimum of five years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of a commercial banking, sales, or financial services background. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be banking or financial industry related.

    Intermediate experience, knowledge and training in commercial banking activities and terminology.

    Intermediate knowledge of correspondent banking products and services.

    Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking and regulations, and other Bank policies

    Ability to develop marketing and business development skills with customers.

    Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to provide leadership.

    Intermediate skills in personal computer operation, word processing, spreadsheet and specialty software programs.

    Ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.

    Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, read, analyze and interpret documents and professional journals, understand procedures, write reports, correspondence and procedures, speak clearly to customers and employees.

    Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.

    Ability to work with little supervision while performing duties.

    Ability to travel and conduct overnight business trips on a frequent basis.

    Current driver’s license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
