    Education

    High School diploma or equivalent.

    Qualifications

    The Meal Service Coordinator should have the following skills and experience:

    • Organized individual with strong administrative and communications skills; able to supervise and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles.
    • Computer Proficient in Word, Internet Explorer; Excel; willingness and ability to learn new systems.
    • Experience working with volunteers for a not-for-profit organization, e.g church preferred. Experience working with individuals who are recently or chronically experiencing homelessness or at-risk is a plus.
    • The ability to work with different types of personalities in a collaborative manner,
    • Candidate must be responsible, dependable and required to pass all background checks.
    • Commitment to The Stewpot’s goals and mission.

    Work Schedule

    30 Hours per week, holidays and weekends required

    Compensation

    Compensation is competitive to comparable positions across the Dallas area.

    Organizational Structure

    This position will report directly to the Meal Service Manager.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Assist with the supervision and direction of volunteers in their assigned areas
    • Assist with the tracking and reporting of the number of meals served and the number of volunteers worked each shift
    • Maintain positive relations with all staff including volunteers and partner agencies and guests
    • Train and orient new volunteers to The Stewpot’s Second Chance Café and meal service.
    • Monitor meal service to ensure food is served in a timely and orderly manner.
    • Assist with the development and distribution of newsletters, brochures and other volunteer communication pieces.
    • Provide feedback and support to volunteers to help them improve their performance.
    • Assist with the ongoing assessment of the volunteer program including identifying agency, volunteer needs and developing new volunteer opportunities to meet those needs
    • Assist in volunteer appreciation events
    • Maintain safety and sanitization levels that exemplify the policy and procedure standards
    • Serve guests with dignity and respect
    • Attend meetings as needed
    • Will include other duties as required

    Success Metrics

    Success for this position will be measured by meeting the responsibilities as outlined above. An annual review will be conducted to communicate performance.
