Medical Assistant Job Description
Park Avenue Skin Care is a 30+ year Cosmetic Dermatology practice on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
We are looking for one full-time and one part-time Certified Medical Assistant.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-task and be self-motivated.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist Physician/Physician Assistants (PAs) with all aspects of patient visit/treatment
• Prepare treatment/exam rooms for patients before patient enters and after patient leaves
• Accompany patient to treatment/exam and perform intake regarding reason for visit and prepare patient
if needed
• Assist Physician/PAs with patient exams, treatments, procedures, and documentation of visit by adding
notes to patient chart (paper or electronic)
• Prepare supply trays for Botox and Filler treatments
• Take before and after photos with iPad
• Fill out and log lab requisitions for all specimens
• Explain to patients and promote appropriate procedures and skincare products
• Perform qualified procedures including (but not limited to) superficial peels, laser hair removal, acne
extractions, Vivace, Clear & Brilliant, Fraxel, CoolSculpting, IPL and others
• Prepare instruments for sterilization and autoclave when appropriate
• Take inventory of supplies in treatment/exam rooms and restock
• Call in or submit electronic prescriptions
• Respond to patient inquires
• Assist with checking patients in/out, maintain patient flow, phone/email triage, and supporting Front
Desk team
• Perform well in environment that values compassion, helpfulness, patience, and resourcefulness
• Assist in other functions of the practice as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
• Must have a minimum of 1 year experience working in a Dermatology office.
Certification:
• Certified Medical Assistant preferred
Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program OR equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of
education
Schedule:
• Full Time / Monday - Friday
• Part Time / 3 days per week.
