    Department: UNIVERSAL BANKING – BAXTER - NISSWA Status: FULL-TIME

    Reports To: UNIVERSAL BANKING SUPERVISOR Revised: MARCH 2022

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Direct and assist customers with bank products and process transactions in support of First Western Bank & Trust’s sales and service objectives while adhering to the bank’s culture of excellence in customer service to its patrons.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    • Greet visitors and customers in a courteous manner and welcoming smile
    • Establish solid customer relationships through identifying needs, providing creative and best solutions for customers, and using cross-sell and referral opportunities
    • Open new accounts, assist customers with changes and updates to existing accounts
    • Answer customer credit and debit card questions, resolve maintenance issues, and post payments
    • Perform daily teller functions including, but not limited to: receiving deposits & loan payments; cashing checks; issuing savings withdrawals; recording night & mail deposits; issuing cashier’s checks & money orders; counting, packaging & verifying currency and coins maintained in drawer and sold to vaults; reconciling loan coupons and other transactions; maintaining recommended cash limits in drawer and vaults; performing teller opening and closing procedures to ensure teller stations and bank access areas are readied for each business day; accurately balance cash drawer at the end of each business day
    • Uphold confidentiality of customer and proprietary information
    • Maintain security of cash & valuables
    • Sell and convert Canadian currency per active rate of exchange; order foreign currency as needed
    • Collect information required for large currency transactions, identify & report suspicious activity
    • Prepare counterfeit bill reports for suspicious bills detected
    • Answer phone inquiries and remit phone transfers via bank system
    • Properly identify each customer in accordance with bank policy
    • Take and enter wire transfer requests received and send to Main Bank for processing
    • Record and balance cash activity for vault; perform dual control functions related to vault cash management as needed
    • Prepare cassettes for ATMs, balance terminals, and replenish cash as needed
    • Ensure compliance with banking laws, regulations and the Bank’s policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy Act
    • Maintain continuing education related to regulatory standards

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
    • Cash handling experience helpful
    • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
    • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
