    ABOUT THE POSITION:

    As a Quality Control Chemist you will play a critical role in maintaining the quality and safety of our cosmetic products. This position involves performing various laboratory tests, analyses, and inspections to ensure our products meet regulatory and internal quality standards in the cosmetic manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory testing techniques, quality control practices, and work closely with the Chemists and other cross-functional teams to uphold our commitment to delivering exceptional cosmetic products.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conduct thorough quality control testing on incoming raw materials, in-process samples and finished cosmetic products using analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and wet chemistry methods.
    • Conduct physical and chemical analysis of raw materials, including identification, purity, and potency testing, to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
    • Perform in-process testing of cosmetic formulations, including pH, viscosity, density, and appearance, to monitor product quality and identify deviations from specifications.
    • Conduct stability testing on finished products to assess shelf-life and product integrity under various storage conditions.
    • Review and interpret analytical data and test results to evaluate product quality, troubleshoot issues, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
    • Collaborate with Research and Development teams to understand product formulations and provide input on quality considerations.
    • Document and maintain accurate and detailed records of all testing procedures, results and observations.
    • Investigate and resolve quality issues, working closely with production and other relevant departments.
    • Stay updated on industry regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance.
    • Participate in the development and validation of new analytical methods.
    • Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring calibration and maintenance schedules are followed.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality control processes.
    • Perform other duties and special projects as needed.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field

    Experience:

    • Previous experience in a quality control role within the cosmetic or personal care industry is preferred.
    • Strong understanding of cosmetic chemistry and formulation.
    • Proficient in analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, and UV-Vis.
    • Detail oriented with excellent record-keeping skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for cosmetics (FDA, EU, etc.).
    • Knowledge of Good manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality control processes.
