    Accounting Clerk

    We are a fast-growing company that's located in the San Fernando Valley. We are currently looking for Accounting Clerk to join our small finance team. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, Monday – Friday from 7:00 am - 4:00 pm. The position involves processing and managing invoices in a high paced, fun environment. We are looking for positive, energetic people who want to work in a team environment!

    Summary:

    The accounting clerk will apply accounting principles, regulations, and policies to all work duties. Assist with regular bank reconciliations. Keep sensitive information confidential. Perform general office support like filing and other administrative tasks. Maintain, verify, and update numerous ledgers. Provide assistance with invoices and payment. Help provide and prepare information for reports in a timely manner.

    Essential Responsibilities:

    Accounts Payable

    Manage receipt to payment process for all types of payables for all clubs.

    Process credit notes, adjustments, return cheques on a timely basis.

    Manage vendor queries as well as AP subledger per company policy.

    Maintain up-to-date vendor list

    Accounts Receivable

    Invoice services rendered to franchise clubs

    Issue recharges to intercompany clubs

    Collect outstanding receivables**

    Reconcile subledger as needed

    Miscellaneous

    Prepare and maintain accounting files, records and reports.

    Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies

    Provide assistance and support to company personnel as needed

    Help with notice to readers and combined audit requirements with external accounting firm

    Qualifications

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

    1-3 years of accounting experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

    Proficient in Microsoft applications

    Effective verbal and written communication skills

    Reading comprehension skills strong enough to read and interpret financial documents

    General knowledge and understanding of accounting procedures

    Strong comfortability in an office environment

    Ability to perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately

    Minimum of 2 plus years’ experience in A/P, A/R

    QuickBooks knowledge an asset

    Accuracy and attention to detail

    Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

    Ability to effectively and courteously communicate written and verbal information
