Day in the Life of a Fitness Coach
You are the leader of the hour.
You will
Lead and motivate members through pre-defined workouts
Help members set and achieve meaningful goals
Provide real-time form corrections and modifications
Educate members on heart-rate-based training
Demonstrate proper use of all equipment (treadmills, rowers, TRX, dumbbells, BOSU, bands, medicine balls, etc.)
Create an inclusive, high-energy class environment
Understand the science behind our workouts — and how we stand apart
Follow-up with members and guests post class to offer support and build community
Our coaches don’t just count reps. They build confidence, community and relationships.
Requirements
Current NCCA-approved personal training certification (ACE, NASM, AFAA, NSCA, ACSM, ISSA) or ability to obtain prior to company specific training
Current CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain prior to company specific training)
Commitment to maintaining continuing education requirements for all required certifications
Ability to complete Orangetheory specific coach training, obtain certification and maintaining continuing requirements
Ability to coach back-to-back classes multiple times per week
Ideal Experience
2+ years of group fitness/training or personal training preferred
Intermediate understanding of exercise physiology and body mechanics
Functional knowledge of heart-rate-based training
