  • Responsibilities

    The Corporate Staff Accountant assists with accounting matters to ensure that all deliverables comply with business needs and established accounting policies and procedures. This position includes, but is not limited to, general ledger accountability, assistance with accounts receivable and payable processes, preparation of workpapers related to financial reporting and budgeting, and other special projects as assigned.

    Responsibilities:

    Month end closing procedures

    Posting of needed journal entries, accruals, etc

    Various balance sheet account reconciliations

    Treasury management

    Bank reconciliations/credit card reconciliations

    Bank account access and settings

    ACH executions

    Bank ledger maintenance

    Expense codification

    Accounts Payable oversight

    Posting of other cash receipts/disbursements

    Attendance, net membership unit, and other customer statistical metric tracking

    Conducting regular inventory counts

    Billing department support

    Researching credit card inquiries received from billing department

    Membership account research

    Transactional research

    Accounts receivable tasks related to billing and applying payments from corporate and charity partners

    Medical services insurance reimbursement tracking

    Sales and use tax filings (ST-1/ST-14)

    City of Chicago amusement, non-titled use, and other tax compliance

    ‘Business Analyst’ functions

    Ad Hoc reporting

    Facility Operating System Maintenance

    Product codification maintenance

    Education/Experience and Core Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent from an accredited university

    Proficient working knowledge of Excel or other Spreadsheet applications

    Eagerness to learn, adapt, and work as a team player

    Detail-oriented communication skills

    Strong problem solving and organizational skills in ability to meet deadlines

    Working knowledge of Sage Intacct, ADP, and/or Concur a plus
