ROLE OVERVIEW
The Lead Sales Manager (LSM) is responsible for leading all aspects of membership sales and revenue generation while serving as the primary support to the Studio Manager. This role combines sales leadership with operational support, helping ensure the studio runs efficiently while maintaining a high-performing, service-focused culture.
The LSM will coach and motivate the sales team, oversee the sales pipeline, and deliver an exceptional experience for every lead and member. In partnership with the Studio Manager, this role also assists with staff leadership, daily operations, problem-solving, and executing studio initiatives. Working closely with the Studio Manager, operations team, and coaching staff, the Lead Sales Manager plays a critical role in driving membership growth, supporting team success, and fostering a strong, engaged fitness community.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Growth (Primary Focus)
Drive membership sales, renewals, and retail revenue to achieve monthly and quarterly sales goals.
Develop and execute sales strategies to maximize lead generation, conversions, and membership growth.
Build relationships with prospective members through consultations, follow-up, and an exceptional sales experience.
Manage the sales pipeline and CRM, ensuring timely outreach, accurate reporting, and consistent follow-up.
Coach and motivate the sales team to achieve individual and studio sales targets.
Organize and lead local tabling events, community activations, referral campaigns, and grassroots marketing initiatives to generate qualified leads.
Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and corporate wellness programs to expand community presence and drive new memberships.
Monitor sales performance and recommend strategies to improve conversion rates, retention, and overall revenue.
Studio Operations & Leadership Support
Assist with front desk operations, staffing coverage, scheduling, and inventory management to ensure a seamless member experience.
Help monitor key performance metrics, including attendance, retention, sales, and revenue, providing insights and recommendations to the Studio Manager.
Support the execution of studio marketing initiatives, including social media content, in-studio promotions, and member engagement campaigns.
Help implement operational processes, company initiatives, and studio standards to ensure consistency across the business.
Support the maintenance of a clean, organized, and fully operational studio environment.
Step in to support studio operations and leadership responsibilities in the Studio Manager's absence.
Member Experience & Community Engagement
Deliver a welcoming, high-energy experience for every member and prospective member.
Build strong relationships that drive member retention, referrals, and long-term loyalty.
Support studio events, challenges, and community initiatives that strengthen member engagement and brand awareness.
Work with the SM to develop strategic enhancements for member engagement and retention.
Lead by example, maintaining high energy and enthusiasm in and out of the studio.
Qualifications & Skills
Proven leadership experience in fitness, hospitality, or customer service.
Strong sales background with a track record of hitting revenue targets.
Comfortable using CRM platforms to manage leads, track member interactions, and support sales and retention efforts.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Comfortable with gym management software and basic financial reporting.
Passion for fitness and building strong communities.
Experience managing social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling, and community engagement.
Ability to execute local marketing initiatives and build partnerships with nearby businesses and community organizations.
Basic graphic design and marketing skills (e.g., Canva) to support promotional campaigns, events, and studio communications.
Schedule & Availability
Full-time role with flexibility for early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
