POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Fabrication Supervisor, this position will be performing various tasks to support the decking department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Polish half-round metal for fittings.
- Assemble gravity fittings onto form-collars before forwarding to next station.
- Deburr metal to remove sharp edges before forwarding to next station.
- Examine work pieces for defects and report issues as necessary to the Fabricator or Supervisor.
- Perform general maintenance and cleaning of equipment as prescribed.
- Conduct activities in a safe and healthy manner and work in accordance with established safety and company requirements, including required PPE.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Assembly department with tasks and projects.
- Exceptional attendance.
- Responsible for area housekeeping.
- Participate in the processes of continuous improvement.
- Able to effectively perform similar position on the floor at any point in time.
- Promote a positive working environment in order to achieve the organization’s goals.
- Regular and punctual attendance is an essential function of this role. Employees are expected to adhere to scheduled work hours and promptly report any necessary absences in accordance with company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in an uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions—such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. on a regular basis is required. Must be able to stand and walk 95% of the time and sit 5% of the time.
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILL/ ABILITY/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- Manufacturing or industrial experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience operating various equipment is preferred.
- Ability to read blue prints is preferred.
- Basic math skills and problem-solving skills are preferred.
- Must be detail oriented and self-motivated.
- Ability to operate a forklift strongly preferred; previous experience a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours with some weekend and holiday work required.
- Must possess the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management, in a team environment.
