                                                                      DATA SCIENCE – SUMMER 2022 INTERNSHIP

As a Data Science Intern, you will be responsible for exploring our datasets, applying best practices for analysis, and helping to build valuable reports, insights, and algorithms relating to the transportation industry. You will be working predominantly in MS SQL database, but will have opportunities to explore PowerBI, Pentaho reporting, and our suite of internal API services built in C#.  The summer will end with a capstone project that will allow you to collaborate with other interns across all departments to showcase what you learned during your internship with FitzMark! 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Understand the industry so you have a deep understanding of what the data actually means (this will be provided via training & job shadowing) 

• Data model development & testing 

• Analyzing data & building interactive reports 

• Documentation of data structure and development work 

• Participate in daily standup meetings and collaborate with senior developers 

• Troubleshoot and debug

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Current Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in a related field (i.e. Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, etc.) 

• Able to work 40 hours a week, at our Amherst, NY location 

• Intern with us from May-August (roughly 13 weeks) 

• Experience in SQL 

• Familiarity with Agile methodology, Git, C#, Azure are a plus
