  • Responsibilities

    • Responds and attends to guest’s repair requests • Follows preventative maintenance (PM) procedures • Understands and operates electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems • Be knowledgeable and capable of operating La Quinta by Wyndham’s M.O.P. system for maintenance orders and requests as they are submitted by the housekeeping department (training given) • Ability to interpret readings from meters and gauges and other measuring units • Responsible for maintaining hotel’s pool cleanliness and chemical levels • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments • Ability to work under pressure situations and exercise good judgments • Ability to focus attention on details, speed, and accuracy • Follows daily maintenance checklists and follows up at end of shift with new maintenance priorities for next day’s work • Walks property on daily basis and maintains all care of exterior (garbage cans, cigarette holders, benches, and basic janitorial duties outside of property as needed) • Ability to ensure the security of guest room access and hotel property • Must read and understand test equipment, measuring devices, and safety manuals • Perform maintenance activities in guest rooms and public areas (i.e. plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, electrical equipment including lamps and HVAC/PTAC units • Program TV’s and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties • Clean, lubricate, protect, and otherwise maintain all tools and equipment in the hotel • May at times be asked to work outside of scheduled hours as an on-call associate for maintenance related issues • Monitors hotel’s fire alarm systems as necessary, to be fully informed of the system operation and to handle emergencies involving the systems • Carry out specific oral and written instructions • Expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management. • Accommodate guest requests when needed as asked for by guest or by management and Front Desk operations • Practice positive guest and associate relations by demonstrating Five Rivers Hospitality’s requirements of service and brand standards. • Successfully handle guest complaints and take initiative to resolve those complaints with little to no assistance from management (unless needed) • Shoveling snow and laying down salt (winter season) • Climb ladders and work at heights above ground SECONDARY JOB DUTIES • Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching • Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50-100lbs Responsibilities: OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES • To keep all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance of the Hotel. Completes maintenance work orders from all departments on a timely basis by following hotels' standard operating procedures as well as maintains good working knowledge of brand standards. • Helps to ensure hotel rooms are in good working order, ensuring guests are comfortable and satisfied with their experience within our hotels. • Must be able to communicate effectively both written and orally to other associates as well as guests. Responsibilities are as given in the Job Duties description. Qualifications: • Must have experience in a hotel or house maintenance Compensation: $12-$15 hourly
